Music, Food, Art, and More

After a two-year hiatus, the Oak Street Merchants, Residents, and Property Owners are back with their 14th annual Poboy Fest this fall on November 6 from 10 to 6 p.m. The event will feature three stages for live music performances, over 40 food vendors, an arts market, and a children's area. In addition, the 2022 festival will place an emphasis on highlighting the history of the poboy with tailored programming and events.

The festival was founded with the mission of improving the Oak Street corridor between S. Carrollton Ave and Leake Street by enhancing its appearance, promoting safety, preserving historical integrity and local culture, and attracting diverse sustainable businesses to the area. Some of the award-winning vendors from previous years include GW Fins, Parkway Bakery, and Bratz Y'all. The event also includes live musical performances, and will feature artists such as George Porter Jr. & his Runnin' Pardners, the New Orleans Nightcrawlers, Michot Melody Makers, and many more in this year's lineup.

A Festive Event For a Good Cause

A portion of the proceeds collected by the 2022 Oak Street Poboy Festival will go towards the New Orleans nonprofit Son of a Saint. This local 501(c)3 works to improve the lives of boys throughout the city without fathers by providing these children with mentorship, emotional support, life skills, constructive experiences, and lifelong peer-to-peer relationships.
