On June 19th at 5:00 p.m., 12 Louisiana chefs will battle it out to be named “King/Queen of Louisiana Seafood” at the 11th annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off at the Cajundome Convention Center in Lafayette. Representing New Orleans is Chef Richard Brennan of Bourbon House.

Chef Brennan of the renowned Brennan family developed a culinary passion during his work in family restaurants. Through education and training, Richard discovered a deep interest in butchery, and through apprenticeships with acclaimed chefs, grew a deeper appreciation of sustainability in the food industry and humane treatment of livestock.

In front of a live audience, a panel of judges, and celebrity hosts, each chef will prepare a dish that centers on Louisiana seafood, which will be judged on presentation, creativity, composition, craftsmanship, and flavor. “We are thrilled to partner with some of the best chefs from around the state in an effort to not only promote Louisiana Seafood – but also to determine who is this year’s top chef,” said Lt. Governor Nungesser.

The winner will go on to represent Louisiana in the Great American Seafood Cook-Off hosted here in New Orleans.
