Stranger Things fans can stop holding their breath as the Netflix summer hit has been renewed for a second season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the creators of the 80s-inspired show, the Duffer Brothers (Matt and Ross Duffer), almost the entire cast of the first season will return, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard and more. The new season will also include four new characters. EW also reports that the new season will consist of nine episodes - exactly one more than the eight episodes of Season 1.

The Duffer Brothers have also told EW.com that James Cameron (AliensTerminator 2) will be an influence.

Variety reports that the second season will also reveal more about the seldom-seen “upside down”. According to producer Matt Duffer, what was disclosed at the end of Season 1 is only a taste of what’s to come.

“We kinda just peeled back the curtain and revealed a tiny bit of the upside down,” says Matt, “ So we definitely want to explore a little bit more. There’s a lot we don’t know about the upside down at the end of Season 1.”

Season 2 is reported to debut sometime in 2017.
