Crispy, sizzling, salty, crunchy ... who doesn't love bacon? There are few things I can think of that aren't made better by the addition of bacon and a food truck round up is not one of them. Tomorrow night, February 5th from 6 to 9 pm, My House Nola is hosting a "Bacon Grease Food Truck Round Up" at Finn McCool's Irish Pub on Banks Street.
Open to one and all, the event is one of several hosted by My House Nola in an effort to bring attention to the different neighborhoods and communities in New Orleans, not to mention incredibly delicious food truck fare. At tomorrow's to-do, expect offerings like a "Brie L.T." with thick-sliced bacon, fig mustard, seared tomato, brie and arugula on ciabatta from Foodie Call or a "Blackened Shrimp Po-Boy" with candied bacon and caramelized onions from The Nola Truck. Bookoo BBQ & Burgers will have Chicken-Fried Bacon, Deep Fried Bacon 'n' Truffle Mac & Cheese Balls and Bacon Chocolate Brownies while Crepes a la Cart is serving up bacon-themed crepes.
