On Thursday, February 15, just as the Lenten season began, an adored New Orleans fruit and vegetable seller passed away. Arthur Robinson, aka Mr. Okra, was 75 years old and the last singing vegetable vendor in the city. Locals will remember him by his bright colored truck, songs, and fresh produce.
Mr. Okra's stepson, Teddy Stansberry, reported that the cherished New Orleans veggie seller died of natural causes in his home.
