Super Troopers 3 (2026)
The third trip to the well for the comedy troupe Broken Lizard and their Super Troopers series is surprisingly fresh and filled with some big laughs. In fact, Super Troopers 3 is actually superior to the modestly amusing second movie.
The clumsy Vermont State Police are back, and, this time, obnoxious Trooper Rodney Farva (Kevin Heffernan) is marrying beautiful Indian woman Sarita (Hannah Simone), who is the sister of uptight Senior Trooper Arcot "Thorny" Ramathorn (Jay Chandrasekhar). Thorny can't stand Farva and will do anything to stop the wedding, even attempting to get Farva fatally bitten by a cobra.
Meanwhile, the rest of the officers (Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske) are investigating a vandalized truck belonging to a local maple syrup company, while also dealing with a new high-tech patrol car.
The film is written by the Broken Lizard gang (Chandrasekhar, Heffernan, Lemme, Soter, and Stolhanske), as well as directed by Chandrasekhar. This is mainly frat boy humor filtered through the slapstick of the Three Stooges and the Keystone Kops. There are times in Super Troopers 3 that the silliness slides into obnoxious territory, which can be a little grating. The movie is at its best when it's going for screwball comedy in situations and dialog.
This being a
Broken Lizard project, you'll probably be offended by something, but you will
laugh at it just the same. There are lines like "Speaking of Gandhi, I'm
starving." Yes, it's offensive but funny. The best comedy doesn't play it safe,
and these guys are still out there doing edgy comedy.
