Former The Smiths frontman, solo-artist, and Olympic-class moper Morrissey has been bestowed with an annual award for the poorest quality writing about sex. Judges spotlighted the following head-scratcher of a passage describing an intimate encounter between lovers from the musician’s first novel, “List of the Lost,” as justification for his nomination: " [they] rolled together into the one giggling snowball of full-figured copulation."
Wow.
The AP reports Morrissey is the 23rd winner of this back-handed prestige courtesy of the Literary Review magazine, presented for “"poorly written, perfunctory or redundant passages of sexual description.”
