Missing the Krewe of Bacchus Parade This Year? There’s an App for That

As a native New Orleanian and regular Mardi Gras celebrant, the Sunday before Mardi Gras was always dedicated to preparing for the roll of the Krewe of Bacchus. The beauty and excitement of seeing the elaborate parade floats and some of the best marching bands made for the perfect Mardi Gras. This year, even with parades cancelled, I will still get to experience almost the same thing, but in an innovative way on a different platform. This year, I will be taking part in celebrating Bacchus through their virtual app.

The virtual app, developed by board members of the Krewe of Bacchus and named "Throw Me Something, Bacchus," is groundbreaking and exceptionally innovative. As I browsed through the app, I could discern that a lot of thought was put into its development. This app is suitable for all individuals regardless of race, age, or location. The accessibility of the app is phenomenal and can be utilized even by the average four-year-old. With its up-to-date features, it is easy to gather the information that is needed to fully enjoy the app.

My favorite features include the virtual throws parade game and the create-your-own avatar feature. With the virtual throws game, I had so much fun tapping my screen as quickly as possible to collect doubloons, beads, and cups that are all worth points towards prizes in the end. The avatar feature allowed me to create a virtual person who looked exactly like me, and I enjoyed personalizing my avatar with the available Mardi Gras gear. Another cool feature is the ability to purchase Bacchus memorabilia. This allows you to get a keepsake that you'd normally purchase or catch by attending the actual parade.

In the end, this vibrant Carnival app will provide you with excitement and entertainment, and while not as good as attending the parade itself, it's a close second. Instead, you'll be in the comfort of your home, yelling, "Throw me something, mister!" and still having a good Carnival time. So, if you love the Krewe of Bacchus and want to continue celebrating that Mardi Gras tradition, download this app. You will not be disappointed.
