March Down Bourbon Street with SiriusXM's Mardi Gras Radio

SiriusXM announced today the launch of Mardi Gras Radio, a four-day limited-time channel for the ultimate carnival party soundtrack featuring non-stop New Orleans music beginning on Saturday, March 2, and leading into Fat Tuesday on March 5.

Mardi Gras Radio will take over SiriusXM’s Real Jazz channel 67 featuring music from legendary New Orleans artists, including Trombone Shorty, Dr. John, Wynton Marsalis, the Neville Brothers and Louis Armstrong, along with brass bands and eclectic New Orleans musical characters including Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth Brass Band, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Kermit Ruffins & the Barbecue Swingers.

This year, SiriusXM will also honor New Orleans legendary composer Allen Toussaint on Mardi Gras Radio with the world premiere of the new album by Adonis Rose and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra titled Songs: The Music of Allen Toussaint, scheduled to be released on March 29. SiriusXM’s Mardi Gras Radio will air a new song every hour starting on Saturday, March 2. 

Mardi Gras Radio will launch on Saturday, March 2 at 9:00 AM ET and run through Wednesday, March 6 at 9:00 AM ET via satellite on channel 67, and will also be accessible through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com.
