Malcolm Todd in NOLA
On Thursday night, September 25, indie pop and R&B artist Malcolm Todd lit up The Fillmore New Orleans with a vibrant stop on his WholeSome Rockstar Tour, Pt. 2. The rising star, who broke out earlier this year with "Chest Pain (I Love)" from his debut album Malcolm Todd, showcased the infectious energy and stage presence that have quickly put him on the map.
The evening opened with Laundry Day, a New York band whose eclectic blend of indie and funk set the tone for the night. Their most popular track, "Friends," which appeared on Netflix's On My Block, drew cheers as the band energized the crowd and prepared them for the headliner.
When Malcolm Todd hit the stage, the room erupted. Fans jumped, swayed, and sang along word-for-word, with "Roommates" serving as the evening's peak moment. With one of the closing songs, "I'll Come Back For You," Todd left the crowd with a heartfelt promise. Though it was his first New Orleans performance, the reception made clear it certainly won't be his last.
