The website, which researched which destinations are the most affordable, friendly, and fun for a road trip this year, ranked Louisiana the fourth best state in the U.S. to traverse for Summer 2022.

The three main criteria informing WalletHub's final road trip rankings were cost, safety, and access to activities. With gas prices at an all time high, Louisiana's Gulf Coast location makes it the nation's second most affordable state for car travel. Additionally, Louisiana's high number of tourist attractions earned it high marks in the activities category. With such variety in landscape and culture, there's a little something for everyone in Sportsman's Paradise.
While many natives to the greater New Orleans area may already feel they're familiar with all Louisiana has to offer, it's rankings like these that remind us how lucky we are to live in a place that others have to drive days to get to and enjoy. So much is right here in our backyard.
