Louisiana is Apparently 6th Most Sinful State in 2019

Wallethub, a personal finance site, released the rankings of 2019’s most sinful states with Louisiana coming in at number six. With gambling addiction costing the U.S. $5 billion per year and smoking costing over $300 billion per year, these behaviors can result in major economic costs.

Evaluating seven sinful behaviors -- anger and hatred, jealousy, excesses and vices, greed, lust, vanity, and laziness, they ranked states in accordance with the vices each state is most prone to. Nevada was number one with gambling addiction, and Missouri proved to have the worst drug problem.

With Mardi Gras rapidly approaching, Louisiana is sure to be home to lots of drinking, drug use, sex, and excess. Below are Louisiana’s top vices with one being the most sinful and 25 being the average.
