Dreamy Weenies, a local hot dog parlor located on N. Rampart Street, announced that its restaurant will be closing July 29. The Facebook post read “Many MANY thanks to all of you who have supported us all these years. We miss you already.”
Owners Nasr Nance and Ahmed Shakir opened Dreamy Weenies five years ago. Their goal was to serve hot dogs “New Orleans-style,” with toppings like red beans and rice and BBQ shrimp sauce.
Nance and Shakir could not be reached for a comment on the closing.
