Lizzo just gave us yet another reason to love
her. She recently surprised medical workers at West Jefferson Medical Center
with a huge food delivery as they continue their fight against the coronavirus.
The Grammy-winning musician and artist behind such hit songs as "Truth Hurts"
and "Good as Hell" has been delivering food to hospitals in areas that have
been hit hardest by the virus, with the Marrero hospital being her latest
recipient.
According to nola.com, the West Jefferson Medical Center posted a
video on their Instagram account of Lizzo sending a message of love and
appreciation to their healthcare employees. The artist expressed her gratitude
to the doctors and nurses putting their lives at risk as they work on the front
lines of this pandemic, stating that the least she could do was to give them
some food.
"I just want to let y'all know how much we
appreciate y'all for putting yourselves on the front lines to protect us during
this pandemic," said Lizzo. "This time is so scary for a lot of people, and
y'all are peace of mind and heroes for a lot of us, myself included. I hope you
feel the love and appreciation coming in from around the world."
This is a much-needed gift for the healthcare
workers of New Orleans, as the city continues to suffer greatly during this
crisis, with some even branding the Big Easy as the new epicenter of the virus
in America. As of today, Mayor Cantrell confirmed that there are 3,148
confirmed cases of the virus in New Orleans alone, 125 of which have resulted
in death. Although there are still rough times ahead, we can all thank Lizzo
for putting a smile on our faces, and perhaps use her generosity as a reminder
to love and appreciate our healthcare workers a little more during this
incredibly trying time.
