The Link Stryjewski Foundation has started a fundraising initiative to cover the costs of summer camp for up to 50 children for one week at Kingsley House or the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP). The Foundation is asking for donations that it will match. The camps cost about $300 per child per week.

According to the DC Children and Youth Investment Trust, youth require structured participatory and strength-based activities to support their development and help them to make healthy choices and abstain from delinquent behaviors. The Foundation, which was founded by Chefs Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski, aims to “provide support to organizations that directly work to end the cycle of violence and poverty, as well as the lack of education for the young people of New Orleans.” Link and Stryjewski chose Kingsley House and the Youth Empowerment Project because they have been constant sources of support and resources for many young people in the community.

“We have partnered with Chefs Link and Stryjewski for many years, and their commitment to Kingsley House and the children of this community is outstanding,” said Keith Liederman, Kingsley House Chief Executive Officer. “The ‘Send a Kid to Camp’ fundraising drive offers much needed support for our campers.”
