At a luncheon where Krewe of Orpheus officials announced their theme, celebrities, entertainment, and throws, Mario Lopez, a radio host and former star of 90’s television show Saved By The Bell, was announced as the reigning monarch for the Superkrewe’s 26th annual parade.
The theme will be “Orpheus Imaginarium” and other celebrity riders will include Harry Connick, Jr., TruTV’s “Impractical Jokers” Sal Vulcano, Brian “Q” Quinn, and James “Murr” Murray as well as country star Trace Atkins.
Originally founded in 1993 by a small group including Harry Connick, Jr. and Captain Sonny Borey, the Krewe of Orpheus is a Mardi Gras organization open to all of good character and spirited personality, according to the krewe’s website.
The parade will hit the traditional Uptown New Orleans route on Lundi Gras (March 4) at 6 p.m.
