Spooky season is officially underway, which means it's time to prepare for this year's Krewe of BOO!
We rounded up some Krewe of BOO! events you definitely don't want to miss. These parades, parties, races, and more are sure to get your spirits high this Halloween season. You can go to these events consecutively, or join in on the fun whenever you please!
Royal Luncheon at Galatoire's
Kick off Krewe of BOO!'s main events weekend with their annual Royal Luncheon at Galatoire's on Friday, October 23. The afternoon lunch offers delicious New Orleans cuisine and also entertainment. Cocktails run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the meal continues until 2:45 p.m. Once the lunch ends, guests can keep the festivities going by joining the krewe's Jazz Second Line through the French Quarter. Tickets are $150.
Krewe of BOO! Jazz Second Line
Taking place right after the Royal Luncheon, you can follow the sounds of a live jazz band through the French Quarter with the Krewe of BOO! Jazz Second Line on Friday, October 23. The procession begins at Galatoire's at 3 p.m. and plays its way to Pat O'Brien's, where the afternoon continues with Cocktails in the Courtyard. The second line is free and open to the public.
Cocktails in the Courtyard
Krewe of BOO! is hosting its Cocktails in the Courtyard happy hour at one of the most iconic New Orleans bars in the French Quarter: Pat O'Brien's. Guests can enjoy specialty cocktails and mingling from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, October 23. The happy hour is free and open to the public. This could be a great activity to gear up for the evening's Captain's Party.
Krewe of BOO! Captain's Party
On October 23, Friday night, Krewe of BOO! will host its Captain's Party at the James Michalopoulos' Studio in Elysian Fields. The celebration will feature sounds from New Orleans funk-rock band Flow Tribe. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and general admission tickets are $25 before tax. Tickets will include wine, beer, a batch cocktail, and soft drinks.
Clown Yoga
Need to do some pre-stretching with your kids before the New Orleans Zombie Run? Make sure to head out to Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar's courtyard on October 24 from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for Clown Yoga. This experience combines fitness with laughter, making it perfect for the whole family.
New Orleans Zombie Run
Feeling active? You have a chance to run this spooky season during the annual New Orleans Zombie Run on Saturday, October 24. Costumes are highly encouraged for the two-mile Halloween fun run. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. at Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant. Pre-registered general admission tickets are $25.
Krewe of BOO! Halloween Parade

The Krewe of BOO! Halloween Parade will roll through downtown New Orleans to the Warehouse District on Saturday, October 24. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the parade will feature elaborate Halloween-themed floats, marching bands, dance troupes, and walking krewes, with candy, beads, and toys thrown from the floats to spectators. Costumes are encouraged, and the parade is free and open to the public.
VIP Parade Viewing Parties
Want to watch Krewe of BOO! without having to secure a spot along the route? VIP viewing parties are a good choice for you. They give guests private balconies, food, drinks, open bars, and bathrooms at several locations along the parade route hassle-free. The viewing parties are at Crescent City Brewhouse from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for $275, Willie's Boil House from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for $225, and the Sheraton's from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are available through Krewe of BOO!'s website.
Monster Mash Post-Parade Party
The official post-parade Monster Mash costume party, featuring DJ Wixx, live music from PaperChase, costume contests, and drink specials, kicks off after the parade on October 24. Doors open at 8 p.m., with both general admission and VIP tickets available through Krewe of BOO!'s website.
Interview with the Vampire Q&A and Screening
End your Krewe of BOO! weekend with a trip to the movies on Sunday, October 25. Prytania Theater Uptown will be hosting a screening of the newly restored version of the 1994 film Interview with the Vampire. Before the film, Krewe of BOO! Grand Marshals Christopher Rice and Eric Shaw Quinn will host a special introduction and Q&A celebrating the movie. Get your tickets for the 7:30 p.m. event on the Prytania Theater's website.
