On Saturday, January 27 at 6:30 p.m., Krewe du Vieux will hit the streets of the Marigny and French Quarter. The anticipated krewe’s theme has been released and as with always keeping it extremely tongue in cheek, this year’s theme is “Bienville’s Wet Dream. Krewe du Vieux's subgroups such as Krewe of C.R.U.D.E and Krewe of Underwear will also incorporate the theme.

The parade is taking a new route which allows parade-goers to enjoy the krewe in front of hotspots such as Marigny Brasserie on Frenchman Street, Golden Lantern on Royal Street, and 'Trashy Diva Clothing Boutique on Royal and Toulouse Street.

The grand marshal for this year’s Krewe du Vieux parade is Andrew Campanella who is a professor at Tulane School of Architecture. He has also won multiple awards including the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities Book of the Year Award, the Williams Prize for Louisiana History, the Tulane Mortar Board Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the Hannah Arendt Prize for Scholarship in the Public Interest.
