Kelly Fields of Willa Jean was named Outstanding Pastry Chef at the 2019 James Beard Awards, the highest honors in the culinary world. Fields has been nominated three times in this category for her work at the downtown New Orleans bakery, which is well known for its Southern-inspired biscuits, cakes, and cookies. Fields was the sole local winner of the 10 New Orleans chefs and restaurants nominated.
