Just Say YAYA Gala Fosters Creativity in New Orleans Youth

YAYA Arts Center's eclectic annual gala garnered a diverse cross-section of New Orleans' patrons of the arts to support the organization's mission of fostering creativity in the metro Crescent City's school-age aspiring artisans.

More than a fundraiser, the event exhibits the artwork of the creative children that benefit from the Central City facility—each learning how to interact with art buyers and present themselves professionally in preparation for their possible future careers. Each of their displayed work is available for purchase, with funds going to the organization and elevating the young artist to professional artist with each exchange.

Beyond the art work available, silent auction items were on display for bidding from accomplished artists including James Michalopoulos and Terrance Osborne. The event also featured glass blowing demonstrations, live music, and an array of local cuisine and full bars, as well as an Affirmation Booth by Mirror Image Activations.

The YAYA tuition-free arts and entrepreneurship training programs are deigned to support and inspire local youth. YAYA's goal is to present a space "training the next generation of New Orleans culture-bearers, while also offering life skills and career development to benefit creative young people on their individual paths to success. "
