The Vintage Rock Club is a cool new spot opening next Saturday, October 27. With décor that is Hard Rock Café meets swank VIP bottle-service room, it’s a rentable private event space during the week that transforms into a hip nightclub on the weekends. The club aims to be “a multimedia music experience designed to inspire and recreate a nostalgic journey down memory lane, no matter the age. It’s a place to relive those carefree, youthful times shared with friends”—or to create new ones.
Friday night’s media preview event was just a taste of the good things to come at the Vintage Rock Club. There were laser lights and strobes, video projections of bands and American Bandstand on massive screens, and photos of everyone from Lenny Kravitz to Prince. Cocktails and Jell-O shots had names like “Raspberry Beret,” “Purple Rain,” and “Great Balls of Fire,” and guests sipped, ate, and danced to Pat Benatar and Three Dog Night.
Vintage Rock Club is located at 1007 Poydras, above Walk-Ons and Copper Vine. The club is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. To rent out the space during the week, call 504-308-1305.
