IHOP Admits IHOB Was All A Publicity Stunt

With IHOP’s 60th anniversary approaching, the temporarily known “International House of Burgers” reveals that their much-teased name change was all promotional, posting “We’d never turn our backs on pancakes (except for the time we faked it to promote our new burgers)” via IHOP’s Facebook page. Sounds like a trick.

But this reveal will have to suffice, as pancake-lovers will be given an anniversary deal for the company’s first love: 60-cent short stack pancakes. Don’t go planning to enter a fluffy pancake, syrup-drenched, and powder-sprinkled heaven yet. This event is one day only: July 17, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.. Each guest can get one order of short stacks at any of the nationwide IHOP restaurants, so make sure to bring friends who can slide over any unwanted plates of pancakes--especially since you know they’ll probably be ordering one of the many teased-about hamburgers.
