Hogs for the Cause
kicks off the 2019 festival season in New Orleans with its 11th annual event on March 29th & 30th featuring over 20 notable bands playing alongside 90 barbeque teams serving mouth-watering BBQ and vying for the title of Grand Champion. Music headliners for the 2019 event at the UNO Lakefront Arena fields include Trampled By Turtles and Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real. Trampled By Turtles, a chart-topping bluegrass/folk-rock band, gained national attention with its energetic live performances and has made appearances at top music festivals around the country including Coachella and Lollapalooza. Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, maintaining a faithful underground following, is led by lead vocalist Nelson, who is the music consultant for the blockbuster film “A Star is Born” and the son of country music legend Willie Nelson.
Director and Co-Founder of Hogs for the Cause Becker Hall stated, “Coming off of a sold out Hogs this year, we really wanted to take the music to the next level for 2019. Our lineup is the best one we've had yet, proving that Hogs is as much a music festival as it is a food festival. It all goes to one amazing cause—to provide aid to families with children being treated for pediatric brain cancer—and that's our main motivation."
The annual two-day fundraising event will feature music from three stages, the Bud Light Stage, Blue Plate-Luzianne Stage and Phelps Dunbar Tent, along with the return of the Craft Beer Hall.
