Yes, you read correctly: Dixie Brewing Company Taproom,
located in New Orleans East, is opening their doors today, Thursday, May 21, to
host guests on their 15-acre property, which is perfect for social distancing.
"Our team has taken precautions to ensure all guests feel
comfortable while at our facility, and we are still offing to-go service for
those who prefer a carry-out option. Outdoor seating options are marked with
helpful flags that have been spaced at least 10 feet apart, and guests are also
welcomed to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets," General Manager Jim Birch
said. "We are really lucky to have such a large outdoor area that our guests
are free to explore—whether sitting by the lake, under a satsuma tree, playing
corn hole, or throwing a (sanitized) bocce ball."
Sources from Dixie Brewing Company ensure customers that safety is
a main priority and that staff will be wearing masks, surfaces will be cleaned
often, and sanitizer stations will be placed throughout the taproom and beer
garden. Considering the reduced captivity regulations, guests will need to
check in once they arrive and must be wearing a mask when interacting with
staff. Customers must purchase food to order alcoholic beverages.
On May 22 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., three local bands will
be playing in the beer garden outside in coordination with Front Porch Gigs.
Bands Kings of a Small Time, New Orleans Suspects, and Dave Jordan and Rurik
Nunan will be playing for guests to enjoy.
Not only can you have some safe quality time at Dixie
Brewing Company, you can now try the newly released beer Ya Heard? starting today.
This is the fifth new Crafted by Dixie beer and is a refreshing lager that
has crisp hops to pair with dishes like basil bruschetta or strawberry rhubarb
pie. The German-inspired beer is brewed with craft pilsner malt and Saaz hops
and has a 5.0 percent ABV.
Hours for the re-opening will be Thursday through Saturday,
11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
