The American musical, Hamilton, makes its way to New Orleans on March 12 and plays through March 31 at the Saenger Theatre. Due to the success of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical, the production has set up a ticket-buying process to deal with the expected high demand, according to sources.
Tickets for the production will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 18. Ticketmaster’s “Verified Fan” site allows interested individuals to sign up to purchase tickets by setting up an account by 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14.
A unique ticket code will be sent via text message the night before the tickets go on sale to those who set up accounts. However, there is a limit of a four tickets purchase with each code.
Because of the high demand to see the story of Alexander Hamilton and the Founding Fathers written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, fake ticket websites have been deceiving the unaware, according to a report last month by WWL-TV.
