5.5 hours  and many tubes of color later I transformed into  rose gold royalty. Hair color can be the best and the worst of trends to try out. Here are a few tips and tidbits of my experience to help you find the color and the salon that is best for you.

Communicate with your stylist.

This is crucial, your happiness in the final results of the process are dependent upon your stylist achieving the correct colors for your hair. This includes the lightening or darkening process, the type of products that will be used, and the duration for which they are left to treat your hair. Being completely open with your stylist about your color history will go a long way.

Be patient, grasshopper.

Good hair color takes time, in my case over five hours. So clear your day, grab a good book and sit back.

Let go & let hair.

Don't be afraid to be experimental it is just hair and it is only July. Try something new, perhaps it will be something subtle or maybe you're identify with the chameleon and are always willing to change colors. Whatever you do, have fun with it and remember if you take yourself seriously everyone else will too.

If you're like me and don't want something so drastic you don't recognize yourself but, not as subtle enough that no one notices. Rose gold hair color is in vogue and will satisfy this craving. If you are looking for some inspiration try Essentials Salon, a beautiful salon located in New Orleans, ask for Ashley Ellis, who styled my hair or any one of their talented staff to help you transform your hair.
