Red light cascaded over the Hi-Ho Lounge Wednesday night. While her band kicked off the intro of “Willing To Die”, Gin Wigmore entered the stage belting out the chorus in the absence of Suffa and Logic rapping. It didn’t matter to the crowd, as they were instantly fixated on the powerful presence of Wigmore’s voice. She started strong and never let up. Though she has a fierce and commanding personality, the whole show felt like we were watching a hometown band consisting of the best talent. Wigmore connected with her fans as she told them how lucky she was to be there starting her tour with such a rambunctious crowd. The crowd was certainly alive as they pleaded for hit songs. Gin fired back laughing and saying it was her show and she was going to do what she wanted. Nonetheless, the crowd’s efforts were rewarded with an abbreviated version of “Dirty Mercy”, a handful of new tracks off her upcoming album, and an encore of “Man Like That”. At the end of the show, Wigmore expressed to her fans that she loved them, saying “You are everything that I have.” The crowd felt the same as they went wild with cheers. Some continued to dance even after Wigmore exited the stage.
