Calling
all film fanatics! Not only are movie theaters across the nation loosening
pandemic restrictions, but, also, The
New Orleans Film Society
will be holding its 32nd Annual New Orleans Film
Festival in person
from November 5-14, which will take place in venues throughout city. There will
also be a globally accessed "Virtual Cinema" from the 5th through
the 21st of November. This event is hosted annually to bring new
filmmakers to light and help their voices be heard. The New Orleans Film
Society strives to develop the culture of film by sharing these new filmmakers'
ideas and unique inspirations with the Southern community.
Each year, this festival hosts
almost 500 local filmmakers and highlights more than 160 films of both
experienced and aspiring filmmakers in New Orleans and the Southern region.
After the screenings, the festival provides "talk back sessions" to give the
audience a chance to meet and greet the filmmakers. Filmmakers also get to make
connections with industry professionals and other filmmakers who travel from cities such as Los
Angeles and New York in the hopes of discovering new and upcoming talent. You
can submit your film via FilmFreeway
through June 18, 2021. Stay tuned for the festival lineup, which will be
announced on September 22. This year, New Orleans Film Festival All Access
Passes will be on summer pre-sale until August 2 with a $50 discount.
All Access Passes come with free tickets to screenings and events, priority
entrance to venues, and early access to reservations.
New Orleans Film Society members
will enjoy an additional $50 off on All Access Passes (total discount of $100)
if purchased during the summer pre-sale. Individual film and event tickets will
be available to past holders and NOFS members on October 19 and will go on sale
to the public on October 26. #NOFF2021
