French Film Fest 2015

The New Orleans Film Society presents, in partnership with the Consulat General de France a la Nouvelle-Orleans and the Prytania Theatre, the 18th annual French Film Festival. This week long showcase of the best in contemporary and classic French cinema takes place at the Prytania Theatre from July 17th to July 23rd 2015.

 Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959) – Alain Resnais' classic about a French actress filming a anti-war drama in Hiroshima and having an affair with a married Japanese architect.

The New Girlfriend (2013) – In director François Ozon's psychosexual drama, recently widowed David (Romain Duris), introduces a secret side to himself he calls “Virginie”—and she’s a blonde.

Party Girl (2014) – Hedonistic hostess in her 60s has to reevaluate her wild lifestyle when she gets a marriage proposal. This semi-autobiographical drama won both the Camera d’Or and the Best Ensemble Prize at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for two César Awards, including Best Debut Feature.

Saint Laurent (2014) – Bertrand Bonello's film covers famed fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent during the peak years (1967-1976) of his career.
