On April 17, the Atlanta Falcons posted their 2019 schedule on Twitter. An extravagant imitation of the opening sequence of Game of Thrones, this Falcon’s release video includes an extended scene outside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The team devoted much time and attention to depicting a New Orleans brass band marching toward the Dome, only to have its saxophone player blindsided by a charging ram. A referee runs into the scene—having been completely outside of the frame—only to call the player out: an elaborate, yet sad recollection of the infamous missed call and a failed attempt to stab at the Saints.
The Falcons also tweeted a map and listing of the house sigils, so that people who inevitably don’t care and, therefore, weren’t paying attention might notice the Saints representation as the “X-AINTS.”
Despite all these desperate digs, the Saints and the Who Dat Nation are sure to serve the Falcons at this year’s Thanksgiving game in New Orleans.
