34 Restaurant's Vindima Party
34 Restaurant and Bar, located in the Warehouse District at 714 Baronne St., hosted a Vindima Party to celebrate the Portuguese Harvest.
Vindima is a traditional grape harvest in Portuguese culture—Chef Emeril Lagasse's heritage. The harvest celebration typically invites communities in Portugal to celebrate seasonal bounty by gathering grapes and often sharing a celebratory meal. Individuals commemorate the tradition by indulging in food, wine, and music.
The restaurant offered a glimpse into the post-harvest celebrations of Portugal's wine regions via 34's replication of Portuguese hospitality, inviting select importers and designing a boucherie-style menu. Over 65 wines were available for pairing, with an additional 21 offered at an exclusive tasting in the venue's speakeasy.
The wines included red, white, and ports form multiple vineyards from all of Portugal's wine-growing regions. The restaurant's kitchen rolled out an offering of authentic Portuguese food to pair with during the celebration.
