Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton? According to Mary Anne Noland's obituary, she chose death instead.

The 68-year-old Virginia woman's cause of death stated as follows: “Faced with the prospect of voting for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, Mary Anne Noland of Richmond chose, instead, to pass into the eternal love of God on Sunday.” Her family stated that upon seeing how dim the presidential prospects were this year, Noland decided to just pass away in peace.

Noland’s actual cause of death was losing a battle with lung cancer. Her husband, Jim Noland, told Time Magazine that the couple’s son wrote the line, which was meant to carry on her sense of humor, rather than taking a shot at either candidate.

Noland isn’t the only one to make a political request from beyond the grave. Jeffrey Cohen, a Pittsburgh resident, requested that loved ones reading his obituary not vote for Trump, rather than bringing flowers. Similarly, Katherine Michelle Hinds, an Alabama native, requested people not vote for Trump.
