On Thursday, September 27, Disney said ahoy to the Big Easy by announcing their first ever cruise line sailing from the Port of New Orleans starting in the year 2020.

The seasonal cruises sail through the Mardi Gras season starting on February 7 and the last cruise leaving on March 6. The Disney Wonder has 6 cruises sailing to locations such as the Bahamas, Baja, The Caribbean, Pacific Coast, Panama Canal, and very special voyages to Hawaii.  Holding up to 2,400 passengers and a crew of 925 you can be sure to expect family fun from every corner whether you choose a 4 or 6-night Western Caribbean cruise, 7-night Bahamian sail, or 14-night Westbound Panama Canal voyage.

Since Disney has decided to bring their cruises to New Orleans you can expect them to pay homage to the New Orleans inspired movie Princess and The Frog. With a Princess Tiana themed restaurant featuring all of her cuisines you can also expect to hear sounds of New Orleans followed by the cities more attractive sights. For those families who are no stranger to leaving the city to go to Disney theme parks around Mardi Gras time, you get the best of both worlds. New Orleans without the loved rowdiness during Mardi Gras and lots of family fun right in your backyard.

If you looking to hop in the fun right away booking for the cruises starts on October 4, but if you are Platinum, Gold, or Silver Disney member your early booking dates start from October 1-3, depending on your status. For more information, you can go to the Disney Website.
