Sounding somewhere between PT Barnum’s fantastical world and the brass bands of Frenchmen Street, their latest album, Important Things Humans Should Know, brings a bohemian flair of surf-rock guitar, Russian polka styles and singing reminiscent of Tom Waits. Bizarre titles like “One-Legged One-Armed One-Eyed Unicycle Man” and “The Clams and I” set the tone for the album, as lead vocalist Noah Adams’ croaks and croons invite the listener to enter the magical and mysterious world of the Dirty Bourbon River Show.
