Legendary rock band, Def Leppard and award-winning brewery, Elysian Brewing Company have joined forces to bring you a one-of-a-kind beer, Def Leppard Pale (6% ABV; 37 IBUs) - a collision of legendary British ale with Northwest hops. The collaboration is driven by Def Leppard’s unique interest in craft beer in tandem with Elysian Brewing Company’s indelible passion for music.
The beer is landing in New Orleans right in time for the co-headlined Def Leppard and Journey show at the Smoothie King Center on Monday, Aug. 27. Def Leppard Pale will also be available at World of Beer, Borgne, The Company Burger, Walk On’s Bristreaux and Bar, and at most Def Leppard concert venues and select restaurants, bars and pubs for a limited time during the colossal co-headlined Def Leppard and Journey tour.
Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott stated, “I love craft beer — it’s the indie side of the beer industry. You get the rock ’n’ roll and the creative, and it tastes amazing. We can’t wait for our fans to try it!”
Joe Bisacca, Elysian CEO and co-founder stated, “Music has been a part of Elysian since its inception. We grew up watching Def Leppard music videos in the 80s, and now, to work and brew beer together is f****** cool."
At 6% ABV, Def Leppard Pale is a classic amber color with notes of caramel, citrus, and pine. Cascade, Chinook, Simcoe and Magnum hops were used for bittering. Def Leppard Pale is approachable with a clean finish.
Music has been embedded in Elysian Brewing Company’s soul since its founding in 1996. Both co-founders are music lovers and call the birthplace of grunge, Seattle, home. From naming the seasonal favorite Superfuzz after a guitar pedal to brewing Men’s Room Original Red for The Men’s Room Radio Show on 99.9 KISW The Rock of Seattle, music is engrained in the brewery’s DNA.
