Preservation Hall, a jazz venue in the French Quarter that aims to keep jazz culture and music alive and well in New Orleans, is introducing a special Christmas gift, entitled HALLiday Grams, for those of you with musically driven loved ones. In an effort to support struggling musicians, all proceeds from the HALLiday Grams will go towards Preservation Hall and towards paying the salaries of musicians who, because of the pandemic, are out of work.
The HALLiday Gram costs $250 for a wide array of useful and desired gifts, including the following:
- A private musical performance of two songs, presented "porch-side"
● One black Preservation Hall Jazz Band (PHJB) drum logo t-shirt
● One kelly green PHJB drum logo t-shirt
● One PHJB drum ornament, with a working drum pedal
● One Alexa Pulitzer "Long Pad" Stationery notepad
● Two Preservation Hall sweater koozies
● Two Preservation Hall enamel pins
● One wooden postcard
Preservation Hall says that it "supports the unique culture of traditional jazz in New Orleans, which developed in the local melting pot of African, Caribbean, and European musical traditions at the turn of the 20th century." Since then, Preservation Hall has nourished, helped, and supported local jazz musicians as well as jazz as a genre of music, and the HALLiday Gram is an initiative to continue their legacy and relationship with jazz.
Those who purchase HALLiday Grams will be able to schedule their two-song jazz musician performance and delivery of their goodies between December 18 and December 23, from 12:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. The delivery is available to valid addresses in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes.
The HALLiday Gram offers you an opportunity to support the jazz musicians who make New Orleans, well, New Orleans. This one-of-a-kind offering provides you with a personal concert, gear that supports Preservation Hall, and the chance to help out local musicians who bring alive New Orleans's jazz spirit.
