Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts, a
restaurant group that with nearly 20 different restaurants around the city, is
hosting a toy drive. The drive is in collaboration with the New Orleans
Mission, the largest faith-based organization dedicated to rescuing,
recovering, and re-engaging those suffering from homelessness, abuse, human
trafficking, and addiction. Together, they are collecting toys for local
children in need, to ensure that even children facing difficult circumstances can
have happy holidays.
"Partnering with Creole Cuisine has been such
a gift to New Orleans," said David Bottner, executive director for the New
Orleans Mission. "The smiles these gifts bring to the faces of less-fortunate
children in our community is priceless."
To participate in the toy drive, donate a new
and unwrapped toy for a child between one and 12 years old when you go to a
restaurant or daiquiri shop owned by Creole Cuisine. Click here
to see the list of Creole Cuisine's restaurants, which include Broussard's, Royal
House, Café Maspero, Flamingo A-Go-Go, and more. Click here
to see the list of Creole Cuisine's daiquiri shops, which include Big Easy Daiquiris
and Daiquiri Paradise, with locations in Chalmette, Metairie, and Harvey.
"This year, we want to show our deep
appreciation for giving hearts, by offering a sweet treat in return," said Marv
Ammari, chief executive officer for Creole Cuisine. For each gift given to a
Creole Cuisine restaurant, the contributor will receive a complimentary dessert
to finish off their meal, and for gifts given to Daiquiri Paradise, the
contributor will receive a 2-for-1 daiquiri special (with the exclusion of
half-gallon and gallon daiquiris).
The toy drive ends December 15, so bring in a
toy for those children who are less fortunate, next time you go to a restaurant
owned by Creole Cuisine. And if you don't frequent these restaurants regularly,
now you have a reason to go! Not only will you get a delicious and
complimentary dessert from the restaurant, but you'll also have the
satisfaction of knowing that a child in need will receive a gift during the
holidays.
