5 O'Clock Charlie
Self-released

NOLA’s own Charlie Dennard returns with his jazz trio to deliver an even smoother installment to the sound he’s been honing for years. After a long stint of tours in South America, the band is ready to dive into some classic American territory with a rendition of Miles Davis’ “Blues By Five,” as well as some of their own original material and an outro indebted to the theme from M.A.S.H. Top tracks to listen for are the high-energy “Grant’s Pants,” the nostalgic “Back In The Day,” and the nicely adapted “Blues By Five.” If some songs run a bit long, it’s only because the trio so obviously enjoys their jam time—and that’s precisely what makes 5 O’clock Charlie such easy listening.
