A Canadian man has been fined and put on probation for trying to smuggle 38 turtles from America over the Canadian border. He has also been put under a 10-year ban of owning the turtles or tortoises.
The turtles were found strapped to Dong Yan's legs during an inspection at the Niagara border. He was fined $2,578 in American dollars. According to Yahoo live turtles are frequently desired in the pet and food trades.
