Louisiana's ninth Cajun-Zydeco Festival, put on by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage foundation, is a free festival for all to enjoy. With a stellar line up, including performers such as Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas, the Lost Bayou Ramblers and Grammy award winner Terrance Simien and the Zydeco experience, along with countless food and art vendors, plus a misting system from Mist Works to keep the goers cool. This year the festival is adding a Kids Tent so parents can let their children enjoy supervised creative activities while they boogie to the music. Workshop sessions will include making corn collages, butterfly fans, an explorer journal and colorful drawings, plus face-painting. The Kids tent will be open from noon to 5:00 p.m. both days of the festival.
