Broussard's has given us the luxury of French and Creole-influenced cuisine in the historic and often-visited French Quarter location since 1920. Chef Jimi Setchim has paid homage to Louisiana ingredients all throughout 2021 and now he has cooked up a new selection of meals that are offered at a fixed price. Currently, sugarcane is featured in the special menu, which you'll get a taste of in each course. And this distinctive menu is a continuation of Broussard's centennial-plus-one celebration.
"Louisiana farmers harvest their first cuttings of sugarcane in the fall, so I thought it was a great time to celebrate something so profoundly steeped in our history," Chef Setchim said. "This menu highlights sugarcane as more than just a sweetener with our morning coffee; it's used in both savory and sweet dishes throughout our menu."
Prepare yourself for these mouth-watering descriptions of the featured items on Chef Jimi's sugarcane menu. You may get an appetite as you read on!
