Calling all fandoms. The Krewe of Chewbacchus will hit the New Orleans streets on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. with a “Space Farce” theme. The Intergalactic Krewe will be led by Brian O’Halloran, who will be riding as King Brian The First, Commander of the Space Farce, He Who Is Not Supposed To Be Here Today.
O’Halloran, best known for his role on Clerks, is leading the parade earlier in Carnival season this year due to the Krewe’s increasing popularity. The Krewe now boasts over 2,000 members of all ages, genders and fandoms, and entertainment for the parade include Browncoat Brass Band, Dead Music Capital Band, Sexy Dex and the Fresh, and Tristan Dufrene.
The Krewe not only prides itself on its diversity but also its “green parading,” or using mostly handmade throws which limit packaging and waste.
