The campy 1998 Coen Brothers film The Big Lebowski is celebrated nationwide during the month of March for reasons only known to those who can't get enough of The Dude, Walter, Donnie, Maude, The Big Lebowski, and the rest of the crew. Here in New Orleans, a screening of the film would not be complete without a New Orleans spin to it. The Joy Theatre screened the film and asked attendees to don their best Big Lebowski frocks to participate in a costume contest. Several items including sign posters and a rug were raffled off. The best feature of the night, however, was the live soundtrack provided by none other than Bonerama who also dressed up as the characters of the film for the momentous occasion.
You'll have to wait another year if you want to jam out to the sweet sounds of The Big Lebowski, but it will give you time to catch up on the flick and remember all the words like most of the audience did.
