Traditions come in all forms when it comes to Mardi Gras, whether it be barbecuing on the neutral ground on Mardi Gras day, staking out your land mass days prior to the Endymion parade, the six foot ladder on the edge of the sidewalk, or the numerous waking crews to name a few.  New Orleans comes alive during the season and the world’s largest free party is always complemented by great music.  This year and in years past, Better Than Ezra returned to the House of Blues for yet another memorable concert on Valentine's Day.

The evening started with Big Sam’s Funky Nation getting the crowd warmed up.  His set was a well-balanced one of original material as well as some creative covers; “Purple Haze” was a stand out.  One can’t help but move when the band is playing.

After a quick set turn, the guys from Better than Ezra took to the stage all wearing Elvis costumes.  Big same also came out dresses as a king.  The set was familiar to the seasoned Better Than Ezra fan and didn’t really matter as the guys still manage to put on an amazing show.  Mardi Gras being the huge party as it is serves as the perfect back drop to the show.  You can see a full gallery here.
