New Offerings in the LGD

Named after a Rolling Stones album, Beggars Banquet in the Lower Garden District has touches of music everywhere (I love The Cramps album peeking out from a planter high up on the wall).

The sunny spot sat out some gorgeous dishes and drinks to formally introduce the gem-toned eatery: Pan-Seared Redfish and Scallops, Duck Leg Confit, and Ahi Tuna were perhaps the most irresistible. The truffle scent wafting from the mushroom-heavy Fresh Gnocchi, however, attracted me the most. Between perusing the eclectic art pieces, humorous touches like the plates around the wall mirror, and the decked out bathrooms that cannot be missed, sips of the signature cocktails including the Spicy Boi Margarita and the Chamomile Cowboy excited the palate.

Though Beggar's Banquet is soon to be celebrating one year in business, it may just be hitting its stride as the Stones themselves are set to take over the city for Jazz Fest.
