Artemis III Moon Rocket
NASA rolled out the core system for the agency's Space Launch System Artemis III mission on April 20 from the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans.
The core system, which is the largest section of SLS rocket, departed from New Orleans so that it could be sent to NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida for use in the Artemis III mission in 2027. Said mission, according to a new release from NASA, will entail astronauts being sent to Earth's orbit aboard the Orion spacecraft on top of SLS to test rendezvous and docking capabilities between Orion and commercial spacecraft needed to land Artemis IV astronauts on the Moon in 2028.
