Recent Anti-Semitic events are hitting closer to home for one Mandeville community. Swastikas and other vulgar messages were spray-painted on the wall of the Northshore Jewish Congregation. One Metairie resident decided to step in and help a saddened community. Artist Laurie Alan Browne decided to turn “lemons into lemonade,” and make something beautiful bloom out of hurtful despair. Browne turned the graffiti into a beautiful sunflower mural to show that anything can be made beautiful.
