Calling all pirate crews, and krewes, to come aboard this year's Pirates of the Pontchartrain Festival, which will be landing on our shores this weekend! For the first time, the Louisiana Renaissance Festival will be bringing together all would-be pirates, as well as their families and friends, to a brand new, four day festival that is sure to be one of the best-run outdoor festivals in the state and on dry land.

This year's Pirates of the Pontchartrain Festival will take place on this weekend on April 10 and 11, as well as next weekend on April 17 and 18, at 46468 River Rd. in Hammond. Tickets are $20 for adults, $13 for children under 13 years old, and free for children under 6. Starting at 12 p.m. and ending at 7 p.m., all guests will be able to enjoy pirate-themed comedy and magic shows, games, music, and more like a dunk tank, an armored combat performance, and circus shows.

Once the sun sets on April 10 and 17, get ready for a separate Saturday Night Concert event, which is 21 and over. Starting at 7:30 p.m., come grab a drink with your friends and enjoy performances by acts like the Chee-Weez, the Molly Ringwalds, Bilge Pumps, Acoustapunks, Sirena, and more. Tickets for the concert nights are $30. Also on Saturday, there will also be two different pageants, Miss Pirates of the Pontchartrain at 5 p.m. and Siren of the South: Mermaid Costume Contest at 5:30 p.m.

Don't worry about sailing back home late in the night; Pirate Festival will be providing three public, rustic camping sites where you can set up your own tent or receive an RV slip and park overnight. There will also be group camping areas that you and your crew can reserve in advance and enjoy time together at Pirate Festival safely. To create a COVID-19 free environment, CDC and WHO guidelines are being taken into high regard. State protocols will be enforced so that employee and guest safety is top priority.
