NOPJF's "Adopt-A-Cop" Program Returns
The New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation announced its landmark "Adopt-A-Cop" initiative for 2025, marking two decades of community support for law enforcement during the city's busiest season.
This vital program aims to provide essential resources and support to officers working extended shifts during the Mardi Gras and subsequent festivals.
In response to the unprecedented demands of the 2025 festival season, the initiative will expand its reach to include all visiting law enforcement personnel. Through community donations, the program provides hot meals, refreshments, and necessary supplies to officers working 12-hour shifts across parade routes and city districts.
The program's signature food truck will make daily rounds, ensuring officers receive sustained support throughout their extended duties. This year's initiative arrives at a crucial time, as the city prepares to host multiple high-profile events requiring extensive security coordination.
