The Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Club announced the starting location and time for the 2018 edition of their annual parade as well as its honorees Monday, January 29.
The parade will begin at approximately 1:30 pm at Napoleon Ave. and Tchoupitoulas St. after the completion of noon mass at St. Mary’s Assumption Church. The parade will then travel down Magazine St. to its conclusion near the intersection of Magazine St. and Jackson Ave. This year’s route has changed from the parade’s traditional jaunt due to road construction Uptown.
For the first time, the parade will feature six brothers sharing the title of Grand Marshal: Daniel, Michael, Patrick, Timothy, Edward and Bryan Haggerty. Morris Ambrosia was selected as the club’s Man of the Year.
